Brown to Senate Republicans: The American People Need Relief Now
WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) – ranking member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs – released the following statement on the current state of Covid Relief negotiations:
“The American people need relief now. Democrats are fighting to help Americans pay their bills, to provide enhanced unemployment benefits, and to deliver the resources necessary to fight the pandemic. While Democrats have been advocating for working families, Republicans have spent months blocking these efforts and sending one message to Americans: you’re on your own. Now they insist on sabotaging the economy before the next administration comes in by hamstringing the Federal Reserve’s ability to support the economy, small businesses, and struggling communities in the future. Enough is enough. Working families cannot wait – Senate Republicans need to make real investments in the country they serve, and they need to do it now.”
