Brown Honors The Life Of Former Senator Paul Sarbanes

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) – ranking member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs released the following statement on the passing of former Senator Paul Sarbanes:

“Today we mourn the passing of former Senator Paul Sarbanes, a distinguished statesman, a voice for consumers and working families, and former Chairman of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee. Senator Sarbanes’ life of public service centered on workers and reshaping corporate oversight. His groundbreaking legislation, Sarbanes-Oxley, and his advocacy for working Americans continues to inform my work today. May he rest in peace as he joins his beloved wife Christine. Connie and I pray for his son, Representative John Sarbanes, and the entire Sarbanes family.”
