Statement of Chairman Dodd in Reaction to House Introduction of Terrorism Risk Insurance Revision and Extension Act of 2007

“I commend Barney Frank and Mike Capuano for their efforts. It is vitally important that we protect American workers, jobs, businesses and infrastructure from future terrorist attacks – both for the security and prosperity of our nation. As I have stated in the past, we must be prepared against any future terrorist threat, and providing insurance against terrorist attacks, which allows our economy to function, is a critical part of our national preparedness. I will examine the House bill as part of this Committee’s ongoing work to find a more permanent solution to ensure that TRIA’s proven economic protections are retained and extended.”
