Senator Warren Response to Preliminary Injunction Preserving CFPB
Washington, DC – Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee released the following video in response to the preliminary injunction preserving the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).
Transcript below:
Today a court blocked co-Presidents Trump and Musk from shutting down the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau - yay! - and found that those DOGE operatives likely broke the law.
Because here’s the thing: Congress created the CFPB to work on behalf of people who get scammed—and that mandate doesn’t go away just because Trump and Musk want it to.
But make no mistake: this fight isn’t over. The case will continue in court, and all of us need to keep fighting for the little agency that has returned more than $21 billion back to families who were cheated, tricked, and scammed by big banks and other financial companies.
So, stay in the fight. It’s worth it.
