Brown Applauds the Confirmations of Ms. Adrianne Todman, to be Deputy Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and Ms. Nuria Fernandez, to be Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration

Today, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, applauded the confirmations of Ms. Adrianne Todman of the Virgin Islands to be Deputy Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); and Ms. Nuria Fernandez of California to be Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). Both historic nominees have broad bipartisan support. Fernandez is the first Senate-confirmed woman of color to lead the agency, and Todman is the first Black woman to serve as Deputy Secretary of HUD.

“Congratulations to Deputy Secretary Todman and Administrator Fernandez on their confirmations. Both are distinguished public servants who understand the challenges we face, and will work to address the growing housing and transportation needs in cities, Indian country, and rural areas,” said Brown. “I look forward to working with them to make equitable and sustainable infrastructure investments so we can build thriving communities.”
